Founded in 2005, the Logistics Institute is a world-class centre of excellence in global logistics and supply chain management. The institute is unique in offering logistics degree courses, research, business consultancy and training services.

The Logistics Institute supervises PhD students across a broad range of logistics research themes including supply chain security, port logistics and sustainable supply chains.

Logistics Research

The Logistics Institute undertakes multi-disciplinary research in areas of logistics including communications technologies; simulation and modelling; lean and agile; food and retail; and sustainability. The centre also offers international expertise in developing the next generation of supply chains, supply chain risk and logistics in emerging economies.

Have your say on ambitious region-wide transport plans

Consultation on the future of transport across the Sheffield City Region (SCR) is set to go live next Monday, 8 January.

An online questionnaire, running until the end of March, will give people across the region the chance to have their say on the SCR’s ambitious draft Transport Strategy. The strategy aims to grow the regional economy by £500million, boosting economic growth by making it easier for people, particularly those in the most deprived areas, to get to work or places of education.
